Trail Trials

The Santa Clara County Horsemen’s Association is hosting a CSHA sanctioned ride.

Starting location is Santa Clara County Horsemen’s grounds and you will ride to Santa Teresa County Park and back. Prizes and ribbons will be awarded first through third and ribbons through 6th place (except schooling division). Juniors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult. The ride is approximately 7 - 9 miles long through private property and the park. Plenty of on site trailer parking is available.

If you need to camp overnight please let me know, there is overnight camping other than water, no facilities are available until after midnight, as the hall is rented to someone else.

Note: Trail Trials check-in time starts at 8:30 am, riders to choose start time (see registration form)

Water for your horse will be at several locations along the trail and at the staging area.

Directions to SCCHA grounds:

From San Francisco, take 280 south to Highway 85. Take Highway 85 to Almaden Expressway (turning off 85 stay to the right side of the left turn lane as you have to turn left and then right onto Almaden expressway) (P.S. Do Not turn right on red light, this nice man in uniform will be there to ask you how your day WAS going) and go south until it completely dead ends at Harry Road turn right, go 1 block to McKean Road (Stop Sign) turn left, the SCCHA clubhouse and grounds will be approximately 1 mile on the left side. 20350 McKean Road.

From Napa, East bay area, take 680 south to Highway 87 go south to highway 85 do not move out of the right lane as the first exit is Almaden expressway, turn left on to Almaden expressway and go south until it completely dead ends at Harry Road turn right, go 1 block to McKean Road (Stop Sign) turn left, the SCCHA clubhouse and grounds will be approximately 1 mile on the left side. 20350 McKean Road.

From the south area Gilroy, Los Banos, take 101 north to Bailey Road turn left and continue on Bailey until it dead ends onto McKean turn right and the SCCHA grounds will be approx.3 –4 miles on your right. 20350 McKean Road.
